Dr. Richard H. Bensimon is a board certified plastic surgeon in private practice in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Bensimon attended the University of Michigan Medical School and trained in General Surgery at Columbia -Presbyterian Medical Center In New York. His plastic surgical training was completed at Montefiore Medical Center in New York. Dr. Bensimon has been in practice for 20 years.
Dr. Bensimon had been frustrated in finding a good solution for correction of textural aging changes and was very excited upon reading Dr. Hetter's articles in 2000, recognizing their value. He began implementing the peel successfully in his practice and enthusiastically shared his experience with Dr. Hetter. This led to a correspondence and friendship that culminated in Dr. Bensimon and Dr. Hetter teaching an instructional course at the annual meeting of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery in Boston in 2003.
Since that time they have taught this course every year to help educate fellow plastic surgeons on the science and technique of performing the peel. Dr. Bensimon has been recognized as an authority on this subject and has been called upon to lecture both nationally and internationally.
